Tokoroa mens and boyswear has been with us for more than 15 years. When we were
introduced we were shocked that they were manually maintaining a database
of about 1000 revolving credit accounts. One of the criteria for
installing a computer system was that it must handle revolving credit
accounts and the sales history for each customer. When dealing
with charge accounts for customers, there has been problems with customers
saving the printed records. We have overcome this in a number of ways.

5. A
statement is printed for each customer each month. This statement
shows the full financial details as well as the detail of the stock
items on each invoice/sale.
One of the idiosyncrasies of the clothing industry is that it is quite seasonal, and stock needs to be purchased on indent well in advance. With the +Impact POS system, the stock is set up for orders well in advance. The clothing tends to arrive in a short period of time. As the stock comes in, the orders are checked, received in and labels printed. The items not received are either canceled or back ordered, then the order is processed into an invoice from the creditor. School wear needs to be maintained in stock, so the stock levels are maintained using the re-order suggestions report in the purchase program.

"We need to maintain a mix of School wear, and clothing for men and woman." Because of the unique combination of features that have been developed over a number of years, Sandra is able to continue the tradition of clothing stores that has been lost in the main centres of New Zealand. Many of the customers are regular visitors to the shop, to pay their regular amounts. Others pay by a/p through their bank, or by direct credit. These bank payments are entered via the cashbook either manually or by the "bank statement download" features of the cashbook. This makes the handling of the large number of payments relatively easy.
