Christies Jewellery opened in 1994 in the revamped Hunters Plaza in Papatoetoe. The brand new store was the first of the Christies Jewellery "new store design" and incorporated the Software Toolhouse DOS based S500 POS program operating on a till pc and an office pc.
 In those days we used a Star DP8430 dot matrix receipt printer and Panasonic dot matrix report printer. The computers were Intel 286 based running Windows 3.11 peer-to-peer network! Even then, the database quickly grew to over 4000 stock cards.

"We have put a lot of effort and money into re-doing our shop, so we needed an up to date software solution that was suitable for our needs. After looking around, the best solution we could fined was right in front of us!"

 On other  installations of +IMPACT POS, labels are adequately printed on the laser printer. For the jewellery application, the laser printer technology can't print a small label accurately enough, so we had to use a dedicated label printer.

 The "butterfly label" produced contains a barcode, stock code, description and price. This is a "tidy" solution and fits in well with the new store image.
